“Another awfully young, awfully good band. They sit somewhere in between that emo-ish indie fightpop sound and eighties poppy Cure-ish indie…”

..is how XFM recently described Small Screen Light Show. They are a young band from the small coastal town of Seaham in County Durham and since making their live debut at The Sage in Gateshead at the end of 2006, they have gone on to play well over 50 gigs – sharing stages with such luminaries as The Young Knives, The Rumble Strips, Dartz, The Buzzcocks, Frank Turner and The Answering Machine.

They were recently made Steve Lamacq’s ‘Unsigned Band Of The Week’ on Radio 1; just days after they’d received their first national airplay courtesy of Huw Stephens – again on Radio 1. Combined with a a busy summer schedule and a lot of media coverage these guys are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

The Harringtons

Featuring one of Mildert’s own on bass, but based all the way down in St. Albans these guys have some dangerously addictive indie-pop tunes on their unsigned album “Rant #289″ that are sure to keep you dancing all night!. Don’t let the catchy rythms fool you though, their lyrics are equally captivating.

Named after a greasy spoon in their hometonw in Hertfordshire The Harringtons have gone from strength to strength in the year since they formed. This summer they’re locked away in practice room, ready to unleash themselves afrer the break, hitting the university circuit. Definitely look out for more from them in the future.
