“Another awfully young, awfully good band. They sit somewhere in between that emo-ish indie fightpop sound and eighties poppy Cure-ish indie…”

..is how XFM recently described Small Screen Light Show. They are a young band from the small coastal town of Seaham in County Durham and since making their live debut at The Sage in Gateshead at the end of 2006, they have gone on to play well over 50 gigs – sharing stages with such luminaries as The Young Knives, The Rumble Strips, Dartz, The Buzzcocks, Frank Turner and The Answering Machine.

They were recently made Steve Lamacq’s ‘Unsigned Band Of The Week’ on Radio 1; just days after they’d received their first national airplay courtesy of Huw Stephens – again on Radio 1. Combined with a a busy summer schedule and a lot of media coverage these guys are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

“They strip their heartfelt vagaries of any hint of macho camouflage, letting their stomachs flutter and their tongues get tied… A band capable of celebrating heartbreaking anomie without being over earnest.” Metro
